Equipment

Equipment refers to the connected controllers that you supervise with Kodeno. This section guides you in configuring and using your equipment.

What is Equipment?

A Kodeno equipment is a programmable logic controller (PLC) connected to the Internet that allows you to:

  • Read sensors (digital inputs, analog inputs, temperatures)
  • Control actuators (digital outputs, analog outputs)
  • Execute automation scenarios
  • Program time-based actions

Each equipment has a unique serial number (MAC address) that identifies it on the network.

Input/Output Types

Digital Inputs (DI)

Two-state sensors: ON or OFF

  • Presence detectors
  • Switches
  • Dry contacts

Analog Inputs (AI)

Sensors measuring a continuous value (0-10V or 4-20mA)

  • Light sensors
  • Humidity sensors
  • Pressure sensors

PT1000 Inputs (temperature)

High-precision temperature probes

  • Measurement in degrees Celsius
  • Industrial precision

Digital Outputs (DO)

On/off commands

  • Relays
  • Solenoid valves
  • Lighting

Analog Outputs (AO)

Variable value commands (0-10V)

  • Speed drives
  • Proportional valves
  • Dimmers

Accessing Your Equipment

In the sidebar, click on "Equipment" to see the dropdown list of all your equipment. Each equipment is a direct link to its configuration page.

An equipment page is organized into several tabs:

Adding Equipment

  1. Access your client space
  2. Click on the "Equipment" tab
  3. Click on "New Equipment"
  4. Fill in:
    • Name: Equipment identifier
    • Serial Number: Controller MAC address
    • Type: Controller model
    • Site (optional): Location
  5. Validate creation

Create Equipment

License Required

Each equipment requires a valid license to be operational. Without a license, the equipment will appear in limited mode.

Connection Status

Equipment connection status is displayed by badges:

BadgeMeaning
🟢 ConnectedEquipment communicates in real-time
🔴 DisconnectedNo communication for more than 30 seconds

The dashboard displays real-time:

  • All configured input/output states
  • Current sensor values
  • Last activity
  • System information

Configuration

Access the Configuration tab to set up:

  • Input/output names
  • Sensor types
  • Units of measurement
  • Calibration
  • History recording

Troubleshooting

Equipment appears offline

Check:

  • Network connection
  • Power supply
  • Firewall settings
  • MQTT credentials

Values not updating

Verify:

  • Equipment is online
  • Configuration is saved
  • History is enabled (for historical data)
